Preferences, if you add a new Page, select it, and click Move Up, and then add
another new Page, select it, and click Move Up, the first new Page is left

13122—In the Time - Formatting view of Preferences, if you enter an improperly
formatted value in the minimum time or round up time fields (e.g.
“2”) and click OK, the value reverts to the default without an
error message appearing.

File Details, selecting a Contact on the File whose Role is “Party”

automatically assign that Person to the File, nor does it assign the Person to

whose Role is “Lawyer” and then specifying the Contact who they
represent, does not automatically assign that Contact to the File.

12555—If
you add an existing Field to a new Custom Page, the Field data already saved on
the old Page (in the File or People Details) will not appear on the new Page
until the Field has been edited on either Page.

Format preference is set to display in minutes format, Time Entries in the
Chronological List view of File Details show the total number of minutes (e.g.
as “75” rather than “1:15”) and label the duration as

16389—If a user is viewing a Custom Page view of a File or Person
Details window, and another user then displays the same Custom Page for the
same File or Person, that view shows only blank fields.

14402—If a phone number
for a Person includes a Country Code and the “Calls to this number are
long distance” option in the Details is selected, the Country Code is not

16421—Filtering the People Index to a Group that includes a Person
who was created by a user while Offline, might cause Amicus to stop responding.
You will need to exit and log back in.

12624—A To Do that has its Priority set to “Someday”
appears in the Calendar Day view for the date set in its Details. (In the
Calendar module, the To Do should appear only in the “My Do Someday
Events” List.).

12677—When deleting multiple Repeating Events assigned to multiple Firm Members, you are not given the option to apply delete rules to All, resulting in many prompts.
12855—If
you reschedule not just one but all Repeating Events in a chain (by selecting
the Change All option) to date(s) that result in one or all being scheduled to
a day outside of the original repeat pattern, the rescheduled Events might not
appear in your Event lists.

13332—An
Event cannot be made a Dependent Linked Event of another Dependent Linked Event
that is not yet substantiated (for example, because it is scheduled for a day
after its Master Event is marked Done).

13522—While working Offline, if you mark a To Do as Done in a
list, it does not drop to the bottom of the list.

13648—If
the firm is set for Event Change Notifications to be automatically sent by
e-mail, and the Microsoft Exchange Server (or local SMTP server) is not
currently able to relay e-mail (due to configuration or inability to support),
Events cannot be deleted.
SOLUTION: In order to delete Events, go
to Amicus Firm Settings > General > Notifications and temporarily disable
the e-mail Change Notifications feature.
14278—In
the Link Details for a Linked Event, the “If this date falls on a weekend
or holiday” setting cannot be changed and saved.

14380—The
Check Availability function in an Event Details dialog for an Appointment, does
not check whether there is a Shared Resource conflict with another Appointment
(e.g. booking the same conference room for the same time).

an Event is associated with a File but not with the People on that File, then
clicking the Do button on the Event in order to generate a document might cause
an error.

you exit Amicus directly after editing the Diary in the Calendar Day view, your
Diary changes are not saved.

15297—When linking a To Do to another To Do, you cannot set the
Deadline of the Dependent To Do to be on the same day as it is scheduled for.
(The “And set its Deadline date” field cannot be set to zero.)

15446—In some circumstances, launching the Date Calculator
function, or the Check Availability function in Event Details, might cause an
error.

9667—The Calendar >
Other Preference for always starting the Timer (and creating a new Time Entry)
when you click the DO button for an Event has no effect if the Event is
assigned to no Files or more than one File. The Timer is not started.

12976—When posting
a range of Time Entries, the default date range is from the current-date
to Today, rather than from the oldest
unposted Time Entry to the newest one.

13118—If you click the Do A Time Entry button in the Phone Call
Details dialog, the default date in the new Time Entry is today rather than the

13514b—If you select more than one Time Entry in the Month view of the Time

Entry fails to post.
13850—Only in File Details can non-Timekeepers create Time Entries by choosing

14405/14421—When printing Time Entries from the Unposted or QuickFind
Results views of the Time module, the Time Entry dates are omitted. Also,

created from an E-mail Details dialog, the default Activity Description is
“E-mail correspondence with {0}Contact

15318—Entering a number followed by a decimal point (e.g.
“1.”) in the Duration field of Time Entry Details is rejected as an
improper format, rather than accepted as the number of hours.

10849—If
you assign a File to a Phone Call, and a Person on the Phone Call is not
already assigned to that File, a prompt to assign that Person to the File does
not appear when you save the Phone Call.

16528—If sending an e-mail by clicking on the Person’s
e-mail address on their Business Card (in Person Details or File Details),
automatic spell checking is disabled in the Outlook e-mail message.
SOLUTION: To spell check the message, choose Spelling from the Tools menu.
10942—In rare cases, an e-mail cannot be saved to Amicus. This is because its subject or body contains characters or text that is not supported in XML format.
11487—If
E-mail Integration is enabled: An E-mail that includes a blocked attachment
cannot be saved to Amicus. (Attachments are blocked if they don’t have
one of the file types specified in the Document Management Firm Settings.)

11579—If E-mail Integration is enabled: When you manually save an
e-mail on a Contact, an incorrect e-mail address might be saved to that
Contact’s record. In some cases, this could later result in e-mail being
automatically saved to the wrong Person or File.

Contact will no longer automatically assign an e-mail address to that Contact’s
record.

12133—When
SOLUTION: In the Sent Items folder of
Outlook, right-click on the column heading, choose Customize Current View in
the shortcut menu, and click Show Fields in the dialog that appears. Then add
the “To” field and remove the “From” field from the
“Show these fields in this order” list at the right. Move the “To”
field to the desired position. Click OK.
12253a—When an E-mail is printed, the E-mail record details are printed
separately from the body of the e-mail.

12253b—If you select an E-mail in a Communications list, right-click on the list,
and choose Print, two separate print dialogs are launched. (This does not occur

13460—When
creating an E-mail from a selected Person in File Details, the Person/File
selector dialog does not appear if that Person is associated with only one

13606—If E-mail
Integration is enabled: If you save an E-mail to Amicus by clicking Save and
Make Associations in the Outlook view of Communications, associating it with a
File and a Person who is assigned only to that one File, then two copies of the
E-mail might be associated with that Person.
13713—If E-mail
Integration is enabled: When you manually save an E-mail to Amicus from your
Sent or Deleted Mailbox in the Outlook view of Communications, it is assigned
the status “Outstanding”, rather than “Dealt With”.

14488—Once a Saved E-mail has been associated with at least one
File or Person, you may not remove all File associations or all People
associations. (You may only associate the E-mail with a different File or
Person.) If you attempt to remove all People, the list of associated People is
not automatically refreshed based on the addresses in the e-mail.

associations and, if you attempt to remove all People associations, only those
Contacts whose e-mail addresses currently match those in the e-mail address

Integration is enabled: When auto-saving or manually saving to Amicus an e-mail
with attachments, the process is not successful if the saved document location
for the attachment is a path over 255 characters. Neither the e-mail nor the
attachments are saved to Amicus. An error message is not shown.

10926—If
you add a new Library Page without first highlighting a place in the Library
list, that new Page is added to the Firm Research section, rather than the
default set in your Library - Defaults Preferences.

Office 2007: In Amicus Managed Documents mode, the Check In and Check Out

documents that are in an Office 2007 file format (.DOCX, .DOCM, .XLSX, .PPTX,
etc.)
9780—The People
Summary report does not include information on more than one Person.
9872b—Some Files and
People Firm Reports might not finish processing properly.

you enter search text in the Amicus Tasks Toolbar without pressing
<Enter> afterward, that text will not be used in your Search.
SOLUTION: After entering text in the

10444—The popup tooltip for a field sometimes appears only for the first item.
11514—In the Tutorial
Office, Graphics Custom Fields are not available in Custom Pages and Records
(in File and People Details), and the ability to add Person’s Photo is
not available in People Details.
12276—The
Amicus Smart Tags feature in Word and Excel finds only the Contacts and Files
added to Amicus BEFORE you launched Word or Excel.
SOLUTION: To refresh the Contacts and Files
accessible, exit Word or Excel completely, and then restart that application.

SQL Server 2005, the Tutorial Office might not open and run properly.
SOLUTION:
1. At the Server, in the Windows Start
menu, choose All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration
Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration.
2. In the Configuration program, choose
the Surface Area Configuration for Features.
3. In the list
at the left, choose MSSQLServer > Database Engine
> xp_cmdshell.
4. Select the “Enable xp_cmdshell” checkbox.
5. Click OK.

15288—Switching
quickly back and forth between your Amicus Office and the Tutorial Office might
fail to complete.
SOLUTION: Opening or closing the Tutorial
Office involves changing between databases, processing dates, etc., and
therefore might take a couple of minutes, depending on your Server and the size
of the firm’s database. Allow time for this process to complete. If rapid
switching has left you unable to open the Tutorial Office, then
exit Amicus, log back in, and try again.
N0026/KB061013—In some cases, the Amicus Tasks Toolbar might be available in only some of your Microsoft Office applications. (It is normally available in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
12515—Reminder
To Do’s created by Daily Checks while you are
Offline do not synchronize properly when you go Online.

14875—At an Offline Workstation that uses SQL 2005 Express (rather than
MSDE), if you go Offline and disconnect from the network, the Index and other
list views might be blank or not refreshed. This is a Microsoft known issue.
SOLUTION: Exit Amicus and log back in. If a “General Network
error” message appears before you exit, simply click Ignore. For a
permanent solution, contact Gavel & Gown Technical Support.
14977—At an Offline Workstation that uses SQL 2005 Express (rather than
MSDE), if you go Offline and then attempt to go back
Online during the same Amicus session, a “Synchronization error occurred:
Error executing SQL” error appears.
SOLUTION: Click OK in the
error message. If you wish to go Online, exit Amicus and log back in.
15032—At an Offline Workstation that uses SQL 2005 Express (rather than
MSDE), if you go Offline and disconnect from the network, an exception error
might appear when you save a record. This is a Microsoft known issue.
SOLUTION: Exit Amicus and log back in. For a permanent solution, contact Gavel
& Gown Technical Support.
15248—If
you connect to any network while working Offline, a prompt to go Online might
start appearing frequently (and will continue to do so until you go Online
successfully).

might be created on the Palm if you set the Link to exchange the People in

Palm has no support for this rule.

created on the Palm after you reset the Link, change the People conduit People
Groups/Contact Categories sync range setting in the People conduit, or change
Contact Categories in the Palm.
SOLUTION: Avoid the creation of
duplicates by synchronizing your Palm with Amicus immediately after resetting
the Link or making either of the changes described above.
15810—Repeating Appointments that repeat past the end of

13081—If an Appointment that has been exchanged is then changed in
Amicus to a To Do, the To Do is exchanged to Outlook. However, the prior
Appointment is not automatically deleted from Outlook, and will be exchanged
back to Amicus. Similarly, duplicates are created if you change a To Do to an
Appointment in Amicus.
SOLUTION: If you change an existing
Appointment to a To Do (or vice versa) in Amicus, immediately delete the prior
Event in Outlook.
14365—If
a Repeating All Day Appointment is created in Outlook, and then an instance of
the Appointment is edited in Amicus, a duplicate Appointment might be created
in Outlook.
15096/KB070328—Under SQL Server 2005, if your Calendar Preferences are set to
automatically create Reminders on new Appointments, the Outlook Link might not exchange Outlook Tasks to Amicus (and an
error 94 is recorded to the log).
