This
document lists outstanding known issues in the specified current builds of
Amicus Accounting. They are grouped together by topic. Within each section,
issues are sorted by number, highest to lowest.
13512—If the firm is set for Client Matter ID autonumbering,
canceling out of the Create New Client function might increment the next Client
ID number.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
11074—You may post transactions dated prior to the Client Matter’s open date, and no warning is shown.
13144/15607—Trust
amounts (which are credit amounts) are shown as negative on screens and
reports.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
11080—If the current date is in the new fiscal year but the previous fiscal year is still open (because year-end processing has not yet been done), you may post trust receipts using the current date. Then, if you post trust transfer to pay A/R in the previous year, the balance of the trust will include these receipts.
15237—Creating a bill for a client who has a Trust Transaction
with a description longer than 255 characters generates an error.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008
15110—When
billing a Client who is set for Task-based Billing, if you select TaskBasedStandard.FRX as the Billing Template and attempt
to print the draft bill, a “Variable 'EXPENSECODE' is not found”
error might occur.
WORKAROUND: In the Set Bill Options tab,
ensure that the “Group Expenses by Code” option is selected.
15095—If
Amicus Accounting has been reinstalled on your file server and your backup
restored, the Reprint Bills function might not work.
WORKAROUND: At the Server, move the \RTF folder from \AmicusAccounting to \AmicusAccounting\bills.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
14484—A bill that has had a Trust transfer posted to A/R cannot be
reversed, even after the Trust transfer and Trust check have been reversed.
WORKAROUND: Contact Technical Support for
assistance in correcting this problem.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
13629—In
the A/R Reminder Statements function, neither of the Detailed Statement options
at the bottom of the dialog are selected by default, and the Statement that
will be generated in that case is not useful.
WORKAROUND: Select one of the Detailed
Statement options.
13627—If a printer is not set up and connected properly at your
workstation, draft bills cannot be displayed.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
13616—When you create draft or final bills, the bills might not appear in other tabs of the Create Bills dialog until you close and reopen the dialog.
13615—If you split a bill between a task-based Client Matter and a non-task-based Client Matter, the bill created for the non-task-based Client Matter shows 0 as the total, and the A/R Expenses in the Client’s subledgers are not updated.
13611—In
the Bill Multiple Clients tab of the Billing > Create Bills function,
clicking the Create Draft Bills button (or Create Final Bills button) will not
create any bills unless you first change the Client/Matter option away from All
(Matters), and then back to All (Matters).
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
12117—Bills
that were run with the “New Invoices For Each Client” option
selected in the Bill Multiple Clients tab of the Create Bills function cannot
be printed by the Reprint Bills function .
WORKAROUND: Using Microsoft Word, open
and print the RTF format bills located in the \bills\RTF\<year><month>
subfolder of the folder where Amicus Accounting is installed.
11554—If
you select one of the Split Bill to Multiple Parties options in Client Matter
Details, a billing run of multiple Client Matters will not include both the
“parent” Client Matter and the “child” Client Matters
to which its bills are to be split. Charges posted against the
“child” Client Matters will not be included in the bill.
WORKAROUND: Run another bill for the
“child” Client Matters.
11424—If there are multiple clients listed in the Draft Bills tab
of the Create Bills dialog, and your cursor is on the last client, then when
you switch to another tab and return to the Draft Bills tab, only that last client
is shown in the list.
WORKAROUND: Scroll up in the list to see
the other clients.
13610—In
the Receipts > A/R Write-offs function, if you click in the Description
field after entering a value in the Fee Amount or Expense Amount fields, the rightmost
digit in the amount is truncated.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
12863—If
your firm charges tax on fees or expenses, then when you receive payment from
the Client, the tax portion of the receipt is not automatically posted to the
Tax Billed/Collected G/L account. (This issue also applies to receiving payment
for billed expenses if taxes were charged to the Client.)
WORKAROUND: In order to account for tax
properly, post the fee portion of the payment first, and then post a separate
entry for the tax portion by selecting the appropriate G/L account for taxes.
Finally, to remove the balance representing the tax portion of the bill in the
Client's A/R balance, post an A/R write off.
15251—If your Accounting Method is Accrual, invoice amounts are
posted against the Suspense Control Account set in Firm Settings rather than
the General Ledger accounts you specify in the Invoice Entry function when
posting the invoice.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
13704—In
Accounts Payable > Invoice Entry, clicking on the Client No. selector might
cause the application to appear to hang.

selector a few more times.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
13625—If a printer is not set up and connected properly at your
workstation, some reports might not be displayed properly.

13624—If the Cash Requirement Vendor report is included in a
Report Runner print group, it might cause an error or cause the application to
crash when you print the group.

the Financial Status Report (available from Reports > General Ledger), some
dates might be truncated.

12121—If you right-click on a report in the Reports module, non-functional Microsoft Internet Explorer options appear in the shortcut menu.
15088—If
you click Undo Bankrec in the Bank Reconciliation
function, the message warns that all checks and deposits will be marked as
“cleared” (rather than saying “uncleared”).
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.
13702—Whenever an automatic backup is run from the prompt that
appears at login, any backups more than 5 days old are automatically deleted.
WORKAROUND: If you wish to ensure that
older backups are kept, periodically copy them to CD or another folder.
14385—If you deleted and added users before attempting to apply
the License Key from Gavel & Gown, a message might appear, saying that the
license is for fewer users than you have, and you will be unable to apply the
license. For assistance, call Technical Support.
NOTE: Fixed in Amicus Accounting 2008.

function in one module does not automatically disable access to it in all
