DOWNLOADING & UPDATING

Important Download Tips:

• Choose a temporary location on your hard drive. Do not download directly into your existing Amicus Attorney folder.
• Do not change the name of the download file.
• Before you click on the download link, make sure that it is appropriate to your version and edition of Amicus Attorney.
• If you experience any errors during the extraction process, do not attempt to install. The file may have become corrupted during download. Delete the downloaded file from your machine and download the update again.
• The instructions assume that your Amicus Attorney has been installed to its default folders. If you have installed the program to a different location, then use that location in the following instructions.

Installing the Patch:

Updating Amicus Administrator:

1. Click the link below and download the zip file AP511DO3.ZIP
2. Extract the zip file to a temporary location. The extracted file names will be "AASHARED.DLL" and "AACAL.DLL"
3. Ensure that all Team Members have exited from their Amicus Attorney Offices.
4. Exit from Amicus Administrator.
5. Copy these extracted files to [drive]:\Program files\Team50\Amicus. If you have a split installation then you must also copy only the "AASHARED.DLL" to [drive]:\Program files\Admin50.

Updating Team Member Workstations:

• After Amicus Administrator has been updated, each Team Member must launch Amicus Attorney from the Start menu at their workstation. Amicus Attorney will be automatically updated on the workstation.
• Important Note: If Team Members already have a shortcut on their desktop for Amicus Attorney, they MUST still go to the Start menu to launch Amicus Attorney for the update to take place. This is done to ensure that the AA50CHK.EXE is run, which will automatically check for updated files.

After the update Check Your Build #'s:

• The About Amicus Administrator dialog (accessed from the Help menu) will still display the build # 5.1.1.2513
• The About Amicus Attorney dialog (accessed from the Team Member Help menu) will display the build # 5.1.1.2533
• The new AASHARED.DLL and AACAL.DLL will both be dated January 16th, 2003.

Updating Secondary Office:

1. Click the link below and download the zip file AP511DO3.ZIP
2. Extract the zip file to a temporary location. The extracted file names will be "AASHARED.DLL" and "AACAL.DLL"
3. Exit from Amicus Attorney Secondary Office.
4. Copy these extracted files to [drive]:\Program files\Amicus50.
