Additional 7.1 Update Files for SQL 2005 Express Offline Components

Version 7.1 Offline Components Update (March 20th 2007)

SQL Server 2005 Express components for the Amicus Attorney Offline feature are not included in the 7.1.0.8 Update. If you applied 7.1.0.8 to SP2 and wish to use the Offline feature at the firm while running Amicus under SQL Server 2005, download these necessary components.

If you installed 7.1 from the Amicus Attorney 7.1 CD, you do not need this download.

Suitable for those who updated to Version 7.1 and are currently running:

CAUTION: Do not apply this download to any installation other than Build 7.1.0.8. (To view your Build number, choose About Amicus Attorney from the Amicus Help menu.)

IMPORTANT: Apply this download to your Amicus Server BEFORE any users initialize Offline at their Workstations.

DOWNLOADING & UPDATING

Important Download Tips:

Choose a temporary location on your hard drive. Do not download directly into your existing Amicus Attorney folder.
Do not change the name of the download file.
Before you click on the download link, make sure that it is appropriate to your version and edition of Amicus Attorney.
If you experience any errors during the extraction process, do not attempt to install. The file may have become corrupted during download. Delete the downloaded file from your machine and download it again.
The instructions assume that your Amicus Attorney has been installed to its default folders. If you have installed the program to a different location, then use that location in the following instructions.

INSTALLING THE PATCH:

Updating the Amicus Server:

Click the link below and download the file "Offline2005.zip".
Double-click the file to extract its contents to a temporary location on the Amicus Application Server. The extracted files will be "dotntfx.exe", "Setup2005.exe", and "SQLEXPR.EXE".
Copy these 3 files to the \Amicus Attorney 7 Server\SmartClient\Install\Offline folder on the Server.
