Integration with CompuLaw™ and WORLDOX®

Amicus 7.1 is a major update that provides even more power and more functionality to help legal professionals manage their practices better than ever.

This latest update includes much anticipated integration with both CompuLaw™ Court Rules Databases and WORLDOX®, document management system, as well as several other new features and enhancements.

Amicus Attorney 7.1 & CompuLaw:
The Amicus Attorney - CompuLaw Link lets users create and modify CompuLaw Court Rules-based Events directly from Amicus Attorney Files and Calendar. This integration provides law firms with increased efficiencies and added protection from calendar-related errors that result in missed critical dates - a leading cause of malpractice claims.

What You Need for the CompuLaw Integration:

  • Amicus Attorney 7 (Standard or Premium)
  • CompuLaw Court Rule Database (CRD) Engine™ installed on the Amicus Attorney Application Server and on workstations where Offline usage requires CompuLaw functionality.

CompuLaw Licenses:
After your Amicus Attorney evaluation period, the firm must obtain a sufficient number of CompuLaw licenses equal or greater than the number of Timekeepers who are licensed users in Amicus. Licenses are available for purchase through the Gavel & Gown Customer Account Services Team (800-472-2289). Note that if additional Timekeepers are added in Amicus Attorney before sufficient CompuLaw licenses are obtained, no Amicus Firm Members will be able to use the CompuLaw features.

CompuLaw Court Rule Sets™:
Sample Rule Sets are provided for use while evaluating Amicus Attorney. After your evaluation period, the firm must have at least one Rule Set with valid Access Codes. You may purchase appropriate CompuLaw Court Rule Sets for your jurisdiction(s) directly from CompuLaw. (www.compulaw.com)

Amicus Attorney 7.1 & WORLDOX®:
The new integration between Amicus Attorney 7.1 and WORLDOX®, allows users to take full advantage of the document management capabilities of that application within the Amicus environment. Users not only have easy access to WORLDOX documents on Amicus Client Matter Files and Amicus Library resources, they also have the powerful search capabilities of WORLDOX.

Once the integration is configured for the firm, any existing Amicus Document records will become unavailable, replaced with access directly to the WORLDOX interface.

IMPORTANT: Due to field limitations in WORLDOX, do not enter Amicus Client or Matter IDs longer than 12 characters. Otherwise, the uniqueness of a File cannot be guaranteed in WORLDOX. For example, if the IDs for two Files each start with the same 12 characters, only one Document Profile will exist in WORLDOX and you might not be able to access the documents related to one File separately from those related to the other.

The Amicus Attorney-WORLDOX Link requires:

  • Amicus Attorney 7 Premium Edition
  • WORLDOX GX (OR-1 or later)

Both products must be installed and running properly on the workstations of users who wish to use or configure the Link.

For more information and Installation instructions see the Amicus Attorney 7 Link Guide - WORLDOX

Amicus 7.1 supports Microsoft® Windows® Vista™, Office™ 2007, SQL™ 2005 and HotDocs® 2007 and includes new e-mail integration features as well as over 100 other product enhancements.
