Saved E-mail Attachment Preferences in Amicus Attorney 7

When an e-mail is saved that includes an attachments these can be viewed from the e-mail itself, either from within the Communications on a File or Person record. When the E-mail Details window is open there will be two listing, titled Original Attachments and Saved Documents.

  • The listing for Original Attachments refers to the number of attachments that are on the originating e-mail. This listing is only available for e-mails that are still listed within the Microsoft Office Outlook Inbox. Once the e-mail has been deleted from Outlook the Original Attachments will show a count of 0. The attachments cannot be opened from the Original Attachments section but will only be available to display the name of the attachments.
  • The listing for Saved Attachments is the number of attachments that are currently Saved into Amicus. This will not change after the e-mail is deleted from Microsoft Office Outlook Inbox.

Within the Firm settings there is an option to determine the file types that can be saved to Amicus. This is based upon safe file extensions. To modify this list open the Firm Settings > Document Management. At the bottom of this window is a list for E-mail attachment types. By simply adding the 3 or 4 letter extension to this list this will allow a greater variety of files attachments to be saved to Amicus.
