Toronto,
ON (September 4, 2007) - Gavel & Gown Software Inc., a
leading developer of practice management software for lawyers,
announced today the launch of its Amicus 2008 line of software
products. The first product, Amicus Attorney 2008 Small Firm
Edition, is the latest version of the world’s leading practice
management software specifically designed for the solo and
small firm market. The second product, Amicus Accounting 2008
is a full-featured, easy-to-use time, billing and accounting
package developed for the legal profession.
"We've
added significant enhancements to the Amicus 2008 products",
said Ron Collins, President of Gavel & Gown. "These are absolutely
the best versions of our software ever. There are some big
new features, plus lots of small refinements that our customers
have been asking for."
Amicus
Attorney 2008 Small Firm Edition, built on the popular Amicus
V+ platform, includes all the core functionality legal professionals
need – Calendar, Files, To-Dos, Contacts, Communications,
Time and much more – all in a single integrated database.
The 2008 version of the Small Firm Edition features a new
navigation pane that provides easy access to any of the Amicus
modules, a new Tasks module for managing To Do’s all in one
place, real time spell check, Outlook® and email integration
enhancements plus much more.
Designed
to combine legal billing and accounting into a single program,
the standalone Amicus Accounting 2008 can be partnered with
Amicus Attorney 2008 Small Firm Edition to provide a total
front office - back office solution for law practices. It
allows users to keep track of time and expenses, generate
bills and write checks, manage receivables and payables plus
much more. Other benefits include its full trust accounting
and robust reporting features. Highlights of Amicus Accounting
2008 include easier navigation, the ability to change the
Client on an existing matter, enhancements to Accounts Receivable
interest, billing and reminder statements, a new payroll add-on
option and a more powerful receipt function.
"While
there's a robust list of new features and functionality in
both releases, the key as always is ease of use and natural
workflow. It's the way we have implemented these new features
that makes the difference," commented Collins.
Amicus
Attorney 2008 Small Firm Edition and Amicus Accounting 2008
are both available now through Gavel & Gown Software’s extensive
sales channel. The Small Firm Edition is priced at $449 for
